Job Description

Support students success as a paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in a dynamic middle and elementary school setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to work full time, with part-time consideration, during the school year, providing vital assistance to educators and students between the ages of elementary through middle school grades.

Location:

  • New Milford, CT

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, approximately 7:25 AM to 2:40 PM
  • Flexible hours available, full-time preferred but part-time candidates welcome

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting classroom teachers by supporting student learning and classroom management
  • Implementing behavior intervention plans under supervision when serving as an RBT
  • Working closely with students to meet individual educational and behavioral goals
  • Supporting social, emotional, and academic development in both elementary and middle school students
  • Collaborating with school staff, therapists, and families to provide consistent support
  • Maintaining documentation and reporting on student progress as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional or RBT, preferably in school settings
  • Strong understanding of developmental needs of elementary and middle school students
  • Ability to implement behavior plans and support individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for supporting student growth

This contract role extends through the end of the school year with an immediate start. The position involves working with one school and offers meaningful interaction with students who benefit from your support daily.
