Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) is a plus
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to changing classroom needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Basic computer and record-keeping skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support students with classroom activities, ensuring they remain engaged and focused
- Assist teachers with instructional tasks and classroom management
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who need additional guidance
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students, including those with special needs
- Contribute to implementing behavior management strategies, guided by the classroom teacher or special education staff
- Help organize classroom materials and prepare lessons as requested
- Monitor progress and document observations to share with educational staff
- Communicate effectively with teachers regarding students progress and areas for improvement
