Job Description
Step into a meaningful role supporting students who need extra assistance in a specialized school environment. This contract position, located near Bourbonnais, IL, starts as soon as possible and runs for a minimum of three months, with the possibility to extend up to a full year. Youll work as a dedicated 1:1 Paraprofessional, providing consistent support and encouragement for your assigned student. Summer hours total 30 per week, with the opportunity to increase hours once the school year resumes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Paraprofessional Certificate or PEL with Paraprofessional endorsement
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting preferred
- Genuine interest in supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Professional, empathetic, and reliable
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer 1:1 assistance throughout the school day, helping your assigned student engage with classroom activities and routines
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement individualized education and behavioral plans
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and reinforcing learning objectives
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment where your student feels supported and empowered
- Track and report progress, challenges, and successes to the broader educational team
