Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting students as an Autism Support Interventionist (ASI) or Emotional Support Interventionist (ESI) for the 20262027 school year. These contract positions focus on hands-on, direct support to students with diverse behavioral and emotional needs within structured educational settings. Assignments will begin August 10, 2026, with a blend of Opening Day/Summer Academy hours followed by regular school schedules later in August. Openings are available across Carbon and Lehigh counties, and assignment details may shift based on program needs.
What Youll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, Human Services, or related field (preferred)
- Associates degree considered with 1+ year of relevant experience (3 years preferred)
- Experience working with children/adolescents in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional/behavioral disabilities, ABA, behavioral health, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, or school-based special education
- Comfortable supporting students with significant behavioral, emotional, and communication challenges
- Strong behavior management and de-escalation skills
- Calm, professional demeanor during behavioral incidents
- Reliable, collaborative, and adaptable approach
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one/small group support, implementing individualized behavior plans and evidence-based strategies
- Assist with daily routines, academics, transitions, and communication
- Respond to behavioral challengesincluding aggression, elopement, and dysregulationwith consistency and care
- Collect data for IEP and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
