Job Description

What we're looking for:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional in a school environment
  • Proficiency in braille transcription and reading
  • Ability to assist with instructional activities and classroom management
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving student needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification as a Braillist or Paraprofessional is a plus)
  • Collaborative spirit and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students, including those with visual impairments
  • Translate classroom materials and textbooks into braille, ensuring accessibility
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to implement instructional plans
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to educators
  • Support positive behavioral interventions and classroom organization
  • Assist students with mobility, note-taking, and accessing educational resources
  • Help facilitate communication between students, teachers, and families
