Job Description
Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students with autism and emotional needs for the 20262027 academic year. As an Autism Support Interventionist (ASI) or Emotional Support Interventionist (ESI), you will work hands-on in a highly structured educational setting, collaborating with talented professionals to help students achieve academic and behavioral success.
Assignment runs from August 10, 2026, to June 11, 2027, with 32.535 hours per week. Roles are based in Carbon and Lehigh Counties, with specific locations determined upon assignment. Opening Day and Summer Academy hours are limited, with full school schedules resuming in late August.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, Human Services, or similar field; Associates degree considered with at least one year of applicable experience (three years preferred)
- Strong experience supporting children/adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional/behavioral disabilities, ABA, behavioral health, or special education
- Proven skills in behavior management, crisis response, and de-escalation
- Comfortable working with challenging behaviors in highly structured classrooms
- Reliable, communicative, and collaborative mindset
- Basic proficiency in computer documentation
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized and small-group support, implementing behavior plans, and facilitating daily routines
- Utilizing evidence-based practices (visual schedules, AAC, reinforcement) to foster academic and social-emotional growth
- Assisting with personal care needs as required
- Collecting data for progress monitoring
- Building positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and supporting overall classroom safety
These roles require resilience and compassion, as you will regularly support students facing emotional dysregulation, aggression, or crisis behaviors.
