Job Description

An opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to support elementary students in a full-time, contract role spanning two school buildings. This position focuses on providing therapy services to children from kindergarten through 5th grade. The role is based in a suburban community and follows the local school calendar for the 2023-2026 school years.

Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Setting: Elementary school environments (Kindergarten-only building and a K-5 elementary school within walking distance)
Work Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:55 AM 3:25 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:55 AM 3:40 PM
    Duration: Contract through June 2, 2026 (New School Year)
    Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and consultations for students in kindergarten through fifth grade
  • Collaborate with educators and school staff to support student development and inclusion
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
  • Support transitions between the two nearby school settings efficiently

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based OT services
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices in elementary school settings
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple school buildings within a district
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills working with students, families, and educators
  • Familiarity with school district calendars and regulatory requirements related to school therapy services
