Job Description

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students in an educational setting near Placitas, NM. As an Occupational Therapist, your expertise will provide life-changing support for children and adolescents across multiple school sites within the district. This position serves a diverse caseload of approximately 40 students from Pre-K through 12th grade, allowing you to engage with young learners of all ages and abilities.

Your day-to-day will involve delivering assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with various eligibilities. Youll work on site, making a direct impact within the school community, and enjoy the stability of a 10-month contract running from August 5, 2026, to June 4, 2027, at 30 hours per week.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Active Occupational Therapist license (required)
  • Experience in school-based, home health, or healthcare occupational therapy settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage and adapt to a varied caseload of school-aged children (Pre-K12)
  • Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education program (IEP) goals
  • Collaborative approach to working with educators, parents, and other related service providers
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations and maintain thorough records
  • Develop, implement, and monitor therapy interventions for diverse student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings to develop student-centered goals
  • Travel between school locations as required by caseload
  • Support teachers and staff with OT-related strategies and classroom modifications
