Job Description

A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available to serve elementary school students from PreK through 5th grade with moderate to severe disabilities. This role requires a compassionate and energetic professional dedicated to improving the lives of children within an educational setting. The position is based in New Orleans, LA, and involves delivering hands-on therapy services throughout the academic year and extended school year programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services tailored to each student's needs
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and progress reporting
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with educational staff
  • Support physical activities, requiring the ability to run, jump, and lift up to 100 lbs

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Louisiana Occupational Therapist license
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly those with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Ability to work full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy or healthcare settings preferred

Contract Type: W2 Contract, full school year (January - May), extended school year program included
