Job Description

Providing occupational therapy services within a K-12 educational setting offers a unique opportunity to support student development and academic success. This contract position requires a skilled occupational therapist to deliver very part-time services, approximately 3 hours per week, in an itinerant capacity for a school district in Los Alamos, NM. The assignment supports students from kindergarten through 12th grade and will follow the current school year schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students with individualized education plans (IEPs) across multiple schools.
  • Collaborate with educational staff and administration to support student progress and inclusive classroom environments.
  • Maintain compliance with district policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in administrative tasks, including documentation and team meetings.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development as provided by the district.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy licensure suitable for school-based practice.
  • Experience providing OT services in school settings, preferably with K-12 populations.
  • Familiarity with educational IEP systems and ability to document services accordingly.
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel between assigned schools.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, families, and specialists.

Location: Los Alamos, NM
Duration: Contract position for the current school year (CSY)
Schedule: Very part-time, approximately 3 hours per week with flexible interview and onboarding process conducted via Zoom.
