Step into a meaningful role utilizing your expertise as a part-time Occupational Therapist and make a real impact working with students. This contract opportunity offers 25 hours per week in a supportive school environment near Kankakee, IL. You'll collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals focused on student growth and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current OT licensure in Illinois
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of educational evaluations, IEP development, and implementation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group therapy sessions that support students academic and functional performance
- Evaluate students needs, develop treatment plans, and document progress in accordance with school requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to ensure students needs are addressed and to provide consultation as needed
- Contribute to multidisciplinary IEP meetings and deliver clear, actionable recommendations
- Assist in adapting classroom tasks and environments to facilitate student participation
- Maintain regular, open communication with staff and parents regarding student goals and outcomes
