Job Description

This full-time, itinerant Occupational Therapist opportunity serves K-12 students across multiple school districts in Eastern Colorado, with a contract lasting through March 23, 2026. The position primarily supports schools in the rural communities surrounding Hugo, Limon, Burlington, and other nearby areas, providing crucial therapeutic services to students with diverse needs.

The role offers a flexible approach to paperwork, planning, and IEP meetings, which can be completed remotely, although in-person service delivery is strongly preferred. The caseload includes a variety of school settings, such as elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as specialized center-based programs. Travel between districts will be required to meet the needs of students across these locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy evaluations, interventions, and consultations for K-12 students
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Complete all required documentation, including progress notes and IEP paperwork, with the option to do so remotely
  • Travel to various school sites regularly to deliver on-site therapy services
  • Participate in IEP meetings and coordinate therapy services to meet students educational goals

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings preferred
  • Strong organizational skills to manage itinerant caseload efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with school staff and families
  • Flexibility to travel and adapt to varied school environments
  • Commitment to supporting student development through evidence-based therapeutic practices

Location:

  • Onsite services required across schools in Eastern Colorado, including Hugo, Limon, Burlington, Anton, Flagler, Woodrow, Karval, and surrounding areas
