Job Description

This full-time occupational therapy position supports K-12 students within a dynamic school setting in Espanola, NM. Serving children aged 5 to 14 across one campus comprising four closely located buildings, the role offers a unique opportunity to work with a caseload of approximately 34 students. The contract runs through May 29th, with potential for renewal.

Responsibilities include delivering occupational therapy services in compliance with Medicaid billing requirements and utilizing the PowerSchool IEP system, with training provided. Progress notes must be completed three times annuallyin October, February, and May. The position follows a caseload model aligned to the developmental needs of the students. Therapists will have access to dedicated therapy spaces and attend paid team meetings, including indirect administrative time. While this role is contractual, supervision arrangements vary depending on licensure level, with district-provided supervision available for certain credentials.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Valid OT licensure with experience in school-based and healthcare settings
  • Skilled in pediatric occupational therapy for children 5-14 years old
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing procedures and compliance standards
  • Proficiency or willingness to train in PowerSchool IEP management
  • Ability to manage a caseload of up to 34 students with individualized attention
  • Excellent documentation skills in maintaining progress notes and reports
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities within a multi-building campus environment

Location: Espanola, NM one K-12 campus with four proximate buildings.
Schedule: 32 hours per week, contract through the school year (CSY).
