Job Description

A full-time occupational therapist is needed to support students in kindergarten through fifth grade at two nearby elementary schools in Vernon Hills, IL. This contract role aligns with the school calendar and offers an excellent opportunity to impact young learners in both a Kindergarten-only setting and a larger elementary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to students in grades K-5 to enhance their educational performance and daily functioning.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
  • Conduct assessments and document therapy outcomes.
  • Manage caseload across two schools located within walking distance.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience working in school settings.
  • Familiarity with elementary school-aged children and appropriate therapy techniques.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and caseload between two school locations.
  • Commitment to supporting student growth and developmental goals.

  • Aspen Elementary School, 500 North Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, IL
  • Hawthorn School for Young Learners, 637 North Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, IL

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:55 AM 3:25 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:55 AM 3:40 PM

This position is available immediately with an anticipated contract end date of June 2, 2026. The two schools close proximity facilitates convenient travel between buildings during the workday.
