Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, serving K-12 students across two campuses in the Bridgeport, CT area. This full-time position runs through June 7, 2027, allowing you to make a lasting impact on students growth and daily success.
Key Qualifications:
- Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Comfortable working with diverse disabilities, including Emotional Disturbance (ED), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Learning Disabilities (LD)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt interventions to individual student needs
What Youll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative OT services for students in grades K-12 across multiple campuses
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with IEP teams
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of student progress and treatment
- Support students with self-regulation, fine motor, sensory processing, and functional life skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure successful integration of therapy goals in the classroom
- Adjust caseload management and intervention plans to reflect diverse needs, with potential for supervision of COTAs
