Bring your expertise in occupational therapy to a vibrant elementary school setting, serving a single campus in the Algonquin, IL area. This contract opportunity spans from August to mid-October, making it an ideal way to gain valuable school-based experience or expand your professional network. With orientation scheduled for early August, youll be prepared and supported as you work closely with a dedicated educational team and students in need of your care.
Your focus will be on resource and self-contained classrooms, developing and implementing therapy interventions that foster student independence and participation in daily school activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Occupational Therapist license for Illinois (IDFPR required)
- Previous experience working in a school environment or with children preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to independently manage time and caseload within a school schedule
- Commitment to best practices in pediatric occupational therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in elementary resource and self-contained classrooms
- Develop and execute individualized treatment plans based on student needs and IEP goals
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with school and legal standards
- Attend orientation August 3rd and 4th to prepare for the start of the school year
The contract offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, providing focused time with your students and stability as you contribute to their growth and well-being.
