Job Description

An opportunity exists for an experienced Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support students across various grade levels in a dynamic K-12 school environment. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students from preschool through 12th grade by providing essential mobility services and guidance.

Qualifications:

  • National Certification for Orientation and Mobility (COMS)
  • Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Proven experience working with diverse student populations, particularly in educational settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop individualized plans and materials to meet student needs

Location:
Surprise, AZ

Responsibilities:

  • Administer assessments to evaluate students' mobility skills and progress
  • Provide tailored instruction aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Develop and implement behavioral management strategies and supportive materials
  • Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and IEP development
  • Consult with parents, educators, and staff regarding mobility challenges and strategies
  • Schedule and deliver both direct and consultative Orientation and Mobility services
