Job Description
A part-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist is needed to support a K-12 school setting with a flexible schedule. This position serves a caseload of students across all grade levels, providing essential orientation and mobility services to promote independence and safety for visually impaired students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized orientation and mobility instruction to students in grades K-12
- Develop and implement assessment plans and instructional strategies tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student goals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Assist with transition planning and skill development across various environments
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) credentials are required
- Experience working with school-aged children in a K-12 setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, part-time schedule
