An opportunity is available for qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialists to support students in a K-12 educational setting in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on empowering students with visual impairments through the development of essential mobility skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Orientation and Mobility, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field.
  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) credential preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in K-12 settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop individualized mobility plans.
  • Proficient in using assistive technology and tools relevant to orientation and mobility.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students' orientation and mobility needs and develop tailored plans to address them.
