Job Description

A specialized role is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to serve K-12 students across multiple campuses during the 2025-2026 school year. This part-time, contract position involves providing essential services onsite within a Pasadena, TX school district, supporting seven campuses with a flexible schedule of less than 10 hours per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver orientation and mobility instruction tailored to K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Assess and develop individualized mobility plans to enhance student independence and safety
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to integrate mobility goals into educational programs
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
  • Participate in professional development and utilize mentorship resources to stay current in best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Orientation and Mobility Specialist Certification
  • Masters degree in Orientation and Mobility or a closely related field
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds in educational settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively coordinate with school teams

Work Details:
