Job Description

This part-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist position supports K-12 students in a school setting located in Olympia, WA. The role involves assisting students with visual impairments to develop safe and effective travel skills, fostering independence and confidence within the school environment. This contract assignment runs from ASAP through June 16, 2026, providing an excellent opportunity to impact young learners lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility assessments for K-12 students.
  • Develop and implement individualized mobility plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support student goals.
  • Provide direct instruction in travel and spatial awareness techniques.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Valid ESA license with Orientation and Mobility certification.
  • Experience working with K-12 populations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of techniques for instructing individuals with visual impairments.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Work Details:

  • Location: Olympia, WA (onsite)
  • Schedule: Part-time
