Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• NMPED certification as a Mobility Trainer for the Blind (required)
• Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) training
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school setting
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver orientation and mobility instruction and support to K-12 students in group and individual settings
• Assess student abilities and design personalized plans that address unique strengths and areas for growth
• Document progress toward established goals and communicate updates with educational teams and families
• Provide recommendations and training to teachers and staff to support safe mobility practices across the school environment
• Adapt instruction to support a variety of visual impairments and learning needs
