Job Description

This contract opportunity is for a part-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) serving an itinerant caseload within multiple school sites primarily consisting of middle and high school students, with possible inclusion of elementary students. The position is located in Glendale, AZ, with services provided across three school sites within the Phoenix area. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year in May 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver orientation and mobility training to students across middle, high, and potentially elementary schools.
  • Provide individualized instruction tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Travel regularly between three designated school sites within Phoenix to fulfill caseload responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to support student success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) license.
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card as required for school-based services.
  • Experience working with school-age children, preferably within middle or high school settings.
  • Strong skills in delivering orientation and mobility instruction in educational settings.

Schedule and Work Conditions:

  • Part-time position with approximately 15 hours per week.
  • Itinerant role requiring travel between school sites; paid travel is provided.
  • In-person interviews are preferred; virtual interviews may be arranged if necessary.
  • Immediate hiring decision following the interview process.
