Job Description

A full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist position is available in a K-12 school near Andover, MA, offering a contract role for the academic year. This opportunity involves working Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, with a 37.5-hour workweek. The caseload includes students of various ages across grades K-12, providing specialized support to enhance their mobility and orientation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Assess and develop tailored mobility plans
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Stay current with best practices and professional development

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Orientation and Mobility license in Massachusetts
  • Demonstrated expertise working with K-12 populations
  • Ability to work onsite exclusively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
