Job Description

In a supportive educational environment, professionals are sought to provide specialized orientation and mobility services to K-12 students. This role is designed for the upcoming school year, requiring a commitment of two days per week, focusing on a manageable caseload of ten students.

Location:
Azle, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine students' orientation and mobility needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized mobility plans.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in developing safe travel skills.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and other specialists to enhance student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and student progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other required school events.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
  • Previous experience working with K-12 students, particularly in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of mobility techniques and equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to diverse student needs.
