Job Description

Providing dedicated, skilled nursing care for an elementary student with specialized medical needs requires a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with trach and ventilator experience. This contract position offers an opportunity to deliver personalized, one-to-one care in a school setting located in Tacoma, Washington, with potential assignments in nearby communities including Sumner and Graham.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State LPN/LVN certification
  • Proven experience managing tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients
  • Ability to provide one-on-one nursing care in an elementary school environment

Location:

  • Primary assignment in Tacoma, WA, with potential support in Sumner, WA 98352, and Graham, WA 98338

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care and supervision to an elementary student requiring trach and ventilator support
  • Support the students health and safety both in the classroom and during transportation, pending confirmation of bus riding requirements
  • Collaborate with educational and health professionals to ensure continuity of care and compliance with school health policies
  • Maintain accurate health records and report any changes in the students condition promptly

Hours and Duration:

  • Approximately 30 hours per week, with additional hours possible if bus riding support is necessary
  • Contract duration from ASAP through the End of School Year (EOSY)

This is a backfill position requiring immediate staffing, providing critical support within special services for students with complex medical needs. Deliver compassionate, expert care that enables student success and well-being in the educational environment.
