Job Description

A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) is needed to support an elementary school aftercare program in the Santa Maria, CA area. This position is a contract role for the current school year, with an expected start date as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year. The work schedule is part-time, approximately 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing support within the Bright Futures aftercare program at an elementary school setting
  • Monitor student health and manage minor medical needs during after-school hours
  • Communicate with school staff and caregivers regarding student health concerns
  • Comply with school district policies and state nursing regulations

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current California LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) credential
  • Experience working in school environments or pediatric care preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with children and school staff in an after-school program
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Location:

  • Primary location is Santa Maria, CA, with potential coverage that could include nearby areas such as San Luis Obispo and Nipomo, CA.
