Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Aftercare Program Support

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
School Setting: Elementary
Program: Bright Futures Aftercare
Contract Duration: Current School Year (CSY) ASAP start through end of school year
Schedule: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3 PM 5 PM

A school district in San Luis Obispo County seeks a dedicated California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support our elementary aftercare program. This role provides vital nursing care and assistance within the Bright Futures after-school program, ensuring students health needs are met in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care to students enrolled in the aftercare program, addressing health concerns and administering medications as prescribed
  • Monitor student health and well-being during program hours, reporting any concerns to appropriate school personnel
  • Maintain accurate health documentation and communicate effectively with families and staff
  • Assist in creating a supportive setting for childrens successful participation in after-school activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current California LVN license and ability to comply with state regulations
  • Experience working in school health services or pediatric nursing preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently within a contract role, focused on student care and safety
