Step into a rewarding contract position supporting student well-being in an engaging school environment near Salem, MA. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to a student in the classroom, focusing on monitoring a student with a tracheostomy (no interventions required). This assignment offers consistent, part-time morning hours through late June, followed by a modified summer schedule in July and early August.
Desired Background and Certifications:
- Active Massachusetts LPN or RN ASN license required
- Previous experience working as an LPN or LVN in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Solid understanding of tracheostomy care in children (with anticipation of minimal intervention)
- Ability to collaborate professionally with teachers, school staff, and families
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and attentive to student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, one-on-one classroom support for a student with a trach
- Monitor students daily health status and communicate observations as needed
- Maintain accurate student health records
- Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to create a safe, inclusive environment
- Participate in care planning and communicate with families and healthcare providers as appropriate
Assignment Details:
- Part-time hours, mornings only: MondayFriday, 8:00 am2:00 pm through June 23rd
- Summer schedule: MondayThursday, 8:00 am12:30 pm, July 6thAugust 6th
