Job Description

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opportunity is available for a full-time, school-year contract position in Lowell, MA. This role is dedicated to providing specialized nursing care within a school setting, focusing on a 1:1 caseload for students requiring individualized health support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily nursing care including medication administration, emergency response, and health screenings aligned with student care plans (IEPs/IHPs).
  • Act as the primary caregiver for an assigned 1:1 student during school hours, transportation, and related activities, ensuring continuous health support and safety.
  • Accurately document all medical interventions and maintain clear communication with school staff, families, and the nursing team to coordinate student care.
  • Support the school nurse office in the absence of the assigned student to maintain smooth clinic operations.
  • Maintain an active MA LPN license, adhere to professional and ethical standards, and prioritize student well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Experience in school nursing or working with pediatric populations preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Commitment to student health and safety in an educational environment.

Caseload: 1:1 Student Assignment
