Job Description
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed for a middle school setting in Ashburn, VA, to provide skilled nursing care on a contract basis through June 15, 2026. This onsite, one-to-one position supports high school students with complex medical needs, including seizure monitoring and medication administration. The role requires dedication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities related to student health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and provide seizure first aid, including administration of seizure rescue medication
- Assist students with toileting, meals, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Support mobility needs, including assisting with ambulation and wheelchair dependence
- Accompany students on the bus and during school hours as needed
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Virginia LPN license required
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Ability to manage seizure care and emergency protocols confidently
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff
Schedule and Location:
- Onsite position at a middle school in Ashburn, VA
- Hours approximately 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM; some variability with pick-up and bus times
- Contract term from ASAP through June 15, 2026
