An opportunity is available for a Middle School General Education Math Teacher specializing in 8th grade Algebra for the full semester of the school year. This contract position is situated in Westfield, MA, and involves working with a single middle school to provide high-quality mathematics instruction to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive 8th grade Algebra lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster an engaging and inclusive classroom environment to support diverse learners
- Assess and track student progress, adapting instruction as needed
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to enhance student learning
- Maintain classroom management and promote positive behavior
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts MTEL certification with endorsement in Middle School Mathematics
- Proven experience teaching mathematics to middle school students, specifically 8th grade Algebra
- Strong understanding of general education practices and ability to integrate math instruction accordingly
- Ability to conduct virtual interviews and participate in virtual onboarding processes
- Willingness to adhere to district requirements, including fingerprinting and contract procedures
Location: Westfield, Massachusetts (Middle School setting)
Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
