Job Description

A full-time General Education Math Teacher position is available for the current school year in Metairie, LA. This role focuses on K-12 education within a contract position running through May 22, 2026. The teacher will deliver math instruction in accordance with the school calendar, dedicating 35 hours per week with a daily schedule of 7 hours plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality math instruction to K-12 students in a general education classroom setting
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to student engagement and success
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement
  • Comply with all district policies, including participation in required screenings and fingerprinting as part of credentialing procedures

Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate required (no Temporary Authority to Teach accepted)
  • Experience in teaching general education math preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with students across K-12 grade levels
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Eligibility to complete separate drug screen and fingerprinting per district requirements

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Duration: Contract through 5/22/2026, current school year
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 hours per day plus lunch
