An opportunity is available for a dedicated Middle School Mathematics educator specializing in 8th-grade Algebra. This full-semester contract position is ideal for a teacher who holds the Massachusetts MTEL certification in Middle School Mathematics and seeks to contribute to student success in a supportive learning environment.
Location: Chicopee, MA
Level: Middle School
Duration: Full Semester (starting January 6, 2026, through the end of the school year)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Assignment: One middle school with a focus on general mathematics education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in 8th-grade Algebra aligned with state standards
- Develop lesson plans that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in virtual interviews and onboarding processes
- Maintain compliance with all state and district requirements, including fingerprinting and contract completion prior to start date
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts MTEL certification for Middle School Mathematics
- Demonstrated experience teaching general math concepts at the middle school level, particularly Algebra
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work 37.5 hours per week throughout the designated contract period
- Capacity to engage with online interview and onboarding processes
