Job Description
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced General Education Teacher with strong skills in math and reading instruction to support K-8 students in an afterschool program setting. The position is located in Chicago, IL and offers a part-time schedule of 7.5 hours per week for the contract school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted reading and math intervention and tutoring to students in grades K-8
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with school staff to align afterschool activities with classroom learning goals
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching general education, with a focus on math and reading
- Ability to design and implement intervention programs for diverse learners
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage students
- Knowledge of K-8 curriculum standards and instructional best practices
- Flexibility to work part-time in an afterschool setting, approximately 7.5 hours per week
