Job Description
This opportunity is for a General Education Teacher to support an afterschool program focused on reading and math intervention and tutoring for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. This part-time contract position offers approximately 7.5 hours per week to make a meaningful impact on student learning and academic success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certified General Education Teacher with experience in reading and math instruction
- Comfortable working with K-8 students in an academic intervention setting
- Proven ability to deliver targeted tutoring and intervention strategies to improve student outcomes
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, families, and school staff
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently during afterschool hours
Location: Arlington Heights, IL (K-12 School Setting)
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in reading and math aligned to student needs
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction to maximize growth
- Collaborate with school staff to align tutoring efforts with classroom instruction
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and intervention outcomes
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment during afterschool sessions
