Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Michigan Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License required
  • Experience working with K-12 students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing teacher or consultant
  • Strong understanding of assistive technology and accommodations tailored for deaf/hard of hearing students
  • Ability to work onsite 3-4 days per week
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized consultation and direct support for deaf/hard of hearing students across K-12 classrooms
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assess student needs and recommend appropriate accommodations and technology
  • Offer training and guidance to staff on best practices and instructional strategies
  • Monitor student progress and adjust support as needed to foster academic and social success
