In this full-time, onsite role located near Elgin, IL, youll work with children and collaborate with school staff to create accessible, engaging learning environments. This contract opportunity enables you to make a direct impact throughout the school year, starting as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid Illinois DHH License
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience in teaching or providing services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Collaborative mindset and adaptability to various student needs
What You'll Do:
- Deliver direct and consultative support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum to support students individualized educational plans
- Foster inclusive classroom environments and promote student self-advocacy skills
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and help develop tailored learning strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress
