Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a School Counselor
  • Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to advocate for and support diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of counseling interventions, crisis management, and educational planning
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to address students academic, emotional, and social development
  • Assess students strengths, challenges, and needs through observation and consultation with teachers and families
  • Develop and implement interventions and strategies that foster a safe, inclusive school climate
  • Guide students in setting educational and career goals, and support them in overcoming barriers to achievement
  • Participate in Student Support Teams and collaborate with teachers and administrators on behavioral and academic interventions
  • Conduct crisis intervention as needed and connect students with community resources
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards
