Job Description

This full-time counseling opportunity is available in South San Francisco, CA, supporting one elementary school for the 2025-2026 academic year. The assignment runs from January 6 through May 30, 2026, providing a focused environment to impact the social-emotional development of young students in grades K-5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to elementary students, addressing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success and well-being.
  • Implement preventative programs and interventions aligned with district guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies.
  • Participate in meetings, team planning, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possession of a PPS credential in School Counseling.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to support a diverse student population in a culturally sensitive manner.

Location & Schedule:

  • South San Francisco, CA.
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • Contract duration: January 6, 2026 May 30, 2026.
  • School day hours, Monday through Friday.
  • The district prefers onsite work but permits remote interviews.
