Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with the SCHOOL COUNSELOR (NT) K-12 endorsement
• Possess a bachelors degree alongside required certification
• Prior teaching experience, particularly in a school setting, is highly regarded
• Strong grasp of content area concepts relevant to high school guidance and counseling
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering comprehensive counseling services to high school students, addressing academic, social-emotional, and career development needs
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to design and implement interventions that promote student achievement and well-being
• Providing guidance on college and career planning, helping students set and achieve post-secondary goals
• Developing and conducting group and individual counseling sessions
• Supporting crisis intervention efforts and contributing to a safe and inclusive school environment
• Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school counseling

This contract position runs from August 24, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, serving a diverse group of high school students.
