Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Louisiana School Counselor credential or certification is required.
  • Prior experience working with middle school students is highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, supportive environment that fosters trust and growth.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical guidelines in all interactions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Lead small group and individual counseling sessions for students facing challenges.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies and support plans.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies to coordinate resources.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and provide recommendations on student support.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and document interventions.
