Job Description
A full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available to provide essential therapeutic services within a K-8 school setting located in Surprise, AZ. This role offers the opportunity to work 35 hours per week during the current school year on a contract basis, serving a diverse caseload of students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized occupational therapy treatment sessions and therapeutic support to students.
- Collaborate with teachers and educational staff by serving as a resource to support student development.
- Provide and manage equipment and assistive technology tailored to students treatment needs and classroom participation.
- Assess and respond to individual student differences during therapy activities, adjusting services as needed.
- Assist in collecting and documenting data related to student progress and therapeutic interventions.
- Travel between assigned school sites within the district to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid COTA license is required.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably within K-8 educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy techniques, assistive technology, and individualized student care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and support staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
