Job Description

Step into a pivotal role as a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) providing essential support for PreK-12th grade students throughout the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity offers a flexible schedule, with 29 hours per week anticipated (potentially up to 30), ensuring a balance between professional development and work-life needs. The assignment runs from September 3, 2026, through June 24, 2027, with caseload numbers to be confirmed prior to your start.

As a floater COTA, youll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across several educational settings. Your week will be split between multiple sites, allowing you to build diverse experience while assisting a variety of student populations and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure recognized by the state
  • Experience supporting school-aged children in educational settings preferred
  • Adaptability and readiness to work with students from PreK through 12th grade
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a flexible caseload and collaborate with different school staff
  • Commitment to upholding student confidentiality and fostering an inclusive environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to students according to IEP goals and district guidelines
  • Assist supervising occupational therapists with assessments and progress documentation
  • Implement individualized strategies that foster student independence and participation in school routines
  • Adapt therapy approaches to meet the functional, developmental, and emotional needs of students
  • Attend collaborative team meetings and contribute to educational planning
