Job Description
A full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed for a K-12 school located in Shelby, MI. This position is a contract opportunity for the current school year (CSY), providing vital support to students within the educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to the needs of school-aged children.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to achieve therapy goals.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team efforts to support student success.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations related to school-based therapy services.
Required Qualifications:
- Must hold current MI certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience providing occupational therapy services within a school or healthcare environment preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively work alongside students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to manage documentation and therapy schedules efficiently.
