Job Description

A K-12 educational setting in Seattle, WA is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide specialized support to students on a contract basis for the upcoming school year. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with children in a school environment, aiding in their physical, sensory, and cognitive development through tailored occupational therapy interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist according to individual student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom setting.
  • Document student progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Adapt therapeutic activities that promote participation in academic and daily living tasks.
  • Support the general well-being and educational success of students by addressing fine motor, sensory processing, and functional skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
  • Experience working with children in a school or pediatric therapy setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of K-12 educational environments and special education requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, educators, and families.
  • Ability to manage documentation and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
