Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Illinois
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt interventions to meet varied student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing student-specific therapy plans
• Provide direct treatment to students according to established goals
• Document and report progress in accordance with school and professional standards
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student growth and participation
• Utilize creative and evidence-based methods to help students improve fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills
• Participate in IEP meetings as requested and contribute valuable input
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to ethical guidelines
