Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Illinois
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet varied student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing student-specific therapy plans
- Provide direct treatment to students according to established goals
- Document and report progress in accordance with school and professional standards
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student growth and participation
- Utilize creative and evidence-based methods to help students improve fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills
- Participate in IEP meetings as requested and contribute valuable input
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to ethical guidelines
