Job Description

A dynamic opportunity is available for a skilled Behavior Specialist with BCBA credentials to support K-12 students in a school environment. This contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering positive behavioral development and creating supportive learning spaces.

Job Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to implement effective behavioral strategies and monitor progress.
  • Provide direct support and training to staff on behavior management techniques grounded in evidence-based practices.
  • Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to shape and reinforce positive student behaviors.
  • Assist in data collection and documentation to ensure compliance with educational and therapeutic standards.
  • Facilitate communication among teams to promote consistency and continuity in behavioral interventions.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Proven experience as a Behavior Specialist, particularly within school settings serving K-12 students.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral assessment tools and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to provide training and mentorship to educational staff regarding behavior management.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and collaboration is highly valued.
