Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 20252026 school year. This contract position focuses on making a meaningful difference across four elementary campuses, providing critical behavioral support, collaboration, and advocacy for young learners. Youll work closely with another dedicated Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administratorbuilding effective systems, fostering teamwork, and promoting a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) or licensed Special Education Teacher (tier 3 or 4 certification required if SpEd Teacher)
  • Previous experience in school settings as a Behavior Specialist or in a similar capacity
  • Solid understanding of functional behavior assessments, positive behavior interventions, and individualized student planning
  • Strong communication skills and ability to train staff on behavioral strategies
  • Capacity to handle crisis situations with composure, utilizing de-escalation and restrictive procedures, if needed
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to develop and implement IEPs and behavior plans in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative behavioral support across four elementary schools
  • Use assessment and data to inform intervention planning and implementation
  • Collaborate with staff, administration, and families to promote student progress
  • Train and support school staff in evidence-based behavioral interventions and district procedures
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, supportive environment for students and staff
  • Ensure best practices and district policies are upheld in daily work
