Job Description

Take on a meaningful and impactful role serving students as an audiologist supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) learners within a vibrant educational community. This contract opportunity is a short-term assignment covering a 12-week maternity leave, providing services from August 31, 2026, through Thanksgiving Break. Youll work onsite, delivering essential audiological care and consultation to students from birth to high school across a dynamic district.

What youll do:

  • Conduct targeted audiological assessments and educationally relevant evaluations for DHH students
  • Work directly with DHH students to assess auditory and communication skills
  • Collaborate closely with clinical audiologists and ENT providers to obtain and review medical reports
  • Support DHH eligibility determinations and facilitate HAT (Hearing Assistive Technology) clearances
  • Communicate evaluation results effectively to teachers, parents, and school staff
  • Partner with support staff and families to discuss and implement educational strategies addressing hearing loss
  • Participate with the Early On Team, serving DHH children from birth to age 3, including occasional home visits
  • Guide and inform educational planning to enhance student access and achievement

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Masters in Audiology
  • Active Michigan Audiology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
  • Preferred: 35 years in pediatric and/or educational audiology
